I hear it all the time — “I don’t have time to cook a real dinner.”

I get it. Life is busy. Whether you’re juggling kids, work, caregiving, or just the general chaos of a full day, the last thing you want is an hour-long kitchen project at 6pm. But here’s what I’ve learned after 20+ years with Pampered Chef: a real, satisfying dinner doesn’t have to take long. It just takes the right tools and a little know-how.

These are five meals I’ve actually made — all in under 30 minutes, all in a single pan. I use the Pampered Chef 5qt. Brilliance Nonstick Saute Pan for every one of them. It heats evenly, cleans up easily, and it’s genuinely one of those tools I reach for almost every night.

Let’s get into it.

1. Garlic Butter Chicken with Green Beans

This one is a weeknight staple at my house. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, then sear them in the 5qt. Brilliance Nonstick Saute Pan over medium-high heat for about 6 minutes per side. While the chicken rests, toss fresh or frozen green beans into the same pan with a tablespoon of butter and a couple of minced garlic cloves. Cook for 4–5 minutes until tender. Plate it all together and you’re done.

Why I love it: One pan, minimal cleanup, and it looks like you worked harder than you did. Your family will think you spent an hour.

Time: About 20 minutes

2. Honey Soy Salmon with Bok Choy

Mix together two tablespoons of soy sauce, one tablespoon of honey, and a teaspoon of sesame oil. Brush it over salmon fillets and cook them in the pan over medium heat — about 4 minutes per side. Remove the salmon, then add halved bok choy to the pan with a splash of the remaining sauce and cook for 3–4 minutes.

Why I love it: This feels like a restaurant meal. Salmon is one of the best proteins you can put on a plate, and the sauce makes it taste like you planned it for days.

Time: About 18 minutes

3. One-Pan Pasta with Sausage and Spinach

Brown sliced Italian sausage in the pan, then add minced garlic, a can of diced tomatoes, and about two cups of chicken broth. Bring it to a boil, add your pasta right into the pan, and cook until the liquid is absorbed — about 10–12 minutes. Stir in a few handfuls of fresh spinach at the end until wilted.

Why I love it: Everything cooks in one pan, including the pasta. No separate pot of boiling water, no extra dishes. And the starch from the pasta thickens the sauce beautifully.

Time: About 25 minutes

4. Shrimp Tacos with Lime Crema

Season shrimp with cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and a squeeze of lime. Cook them in the pan over medium-high heat — they take about 2 minutes per side, so don’t walk away. While they cook, stir together sour cream, lime juice, and a pinch of salt for a quick crema. Warm your tortillas in the same pan after the shrimp come off, fill them up, and top with shredded cabbage and the crema.

Why I love it: Shrimp cook incredibly fast, which makes this one of my go-to options when I’m really short on time. And tacos make everyone happy — kids, adults, picky eaters included.

Time: About 15 minutes

5. Skillet Chicken Fried Rice

This is where leftover rice becomes something special. Cook diced chicken in the pan until golden, then push it to the side and scramble two eggs in the empty space. Add cold cooked rice, frozen peas and carrots, soy sauce, and a drizzle of sesame oil. Stir everything together over high heat for a few minutes until it’s heated through and slightly crispy.

Why I love it: It uses up leftovers, it’s endlessly customizable, and it tastes better than most takeout versions. This one is a crowd pleaser every single time.

Time: About 20 minutes

The Common Thread

One pan. Real ingredients. Under 30 minutes.

That’s the Pampered Chef philosophy I’ve lived by for over two decades — great cooking doesn’t have to be complicated. When you have quality tools that actually perform, dinner gets a whole lot simpler.

The Pampered Chef 5qt. Brilliance Nonstick Saute Pan is one of the products I genuinely use and recommend to everyone I talk to. If you’re curious about it — or any of the other tools I cook with — I’d love to help you find what works best for your kitchen.
